IPSDEN CC
2010
TOUR
Dear Club Member,
I would like to thank you all those who toured with us this year. I trust you enjoyed it as much as I did?
I am writing to inform you of the outline of the 2010 tour. I respect that it is somewhat early, & no I haven’t gone mad or become obsessed with being the tour sec. But I hope to offer you all something special in 2010. But need to gauge to commitment & interest as early as possible.
You may not be aware but 2010 represents 20 years of the Club being on tour, which is some achievement for our club. It also will be the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
I purpose that we adopt a 4 day format, incorporating 3 games of cricket. These games are listed below & have all been confirmed:
1. 20 /20 Game v Cockington, Friday 25th June 2010
2. 30 Over Game v Dulverton, Saturday 26th June 2010
3. 30 Over Game v Stoodleigh, Sunday 27th June 2010
We will stay in a 5 star Hotel complex in Exmouth, called Woodbury Park Hotel & Country Club. The hotel has a history of hosting leading sporting teams that play in the West Country, most notably Manchester United Football Club & the English Saxons Rugby Union Squad. We will stay Bed & Breakfast in 2 x 8 Berth Alpine Lodges, on their 18 Hole Championship Golf Course.
All hotel facilities will be open to us free of charge:
Gym
Swimming Pool
Tennis & Squash Courts
Premiership football pitch for Football, Rugby & Cricket warm up
18 hole Championship Golf Course (Not Included in price, only to be played with a handicap)
9 hole Golf Course (£10 per round)
Two Bars. (One in the hotel & one in the Golf Club)
Large Screen to watch World Cup Games.
The hotel was built & is owned by the Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell, & house’s his museum. www.woodburypark.co.uk
I know that part of you must think this looks great! But how can we afford this kind of tour. Well because of the time period until we tour next year & due to going direct to the hotel we receive very good rates.
This means the 2010 tour will be only £20 more than the 2009. For £140 (£30 per night) we will receive a 3 night, 4 day tour in 5 star surroundings, including Bed & Breakfast plus food after each game.
However for this to work we need 16 persons, no more & no less. I would like all club members to register their interest with me or place your name on the 2010 Tour list on the notice board in the pavilion by the end of the present 2009 Cricket Season (last home game 20th September 2009. This will enable me to gauge the interest. I will then ask for £40 deposits by the 30th November 2009, & the balance of £100 to be paid by Monday 31st May 2010. Please see below a cost break down for your information.
